Steelhead Outdoors modular safes can be built to a custom size to fit specific spaces or collection sizes if its standard safe sizes aren’t a perfect fit. Standard models are the Nomad 26, Nomad 32 and Nomad 38 with the model numbers corresponding with the gun safes’ exterior width.
A custom racking configuration is always available for Steelhead Outdoors safes. Fully modular interior racking system offers infinite possibilities of shelving and gun rack configuration. Standard interior options are single horseshoe gun holder, double horseshoe gun holder and multi-row maximum gun racking. These interior options give the Nomad 26 a 6-, 12- and 15-gun capacity; the Nomad 32 having an 8-, 16, and 19-gun capacity; the Nomad 38 having a 10-, 20- and 35-gun capacity, depending on choice.
Several customers have joined two safes together to fit a larger collection while still enjoying the benefits of a modular safe that can move when the time comes. In these configurations, the safe door doesn’t become too heavy for a larger safe and the side panels are still light enough for two people to move easily – maintaining the benefits of a modular safe
Custom colors and design features allow customers to create a stunning safe or one that blends into the background, depending on preferences. Each safe can be ordered with a choice of an interior and exterior color. The handle and logo on the safe will match the inferior color, creating a great accent color on the front of the safe that continues into the inside. The standard custom color collection was inspired by America’s national parks – Badlands Brown, Artic White, Royale Blue, Yosemite Grey, Zion Bronze, Glacier Green and new Rocky Mountain Rust featuring the authentic beauty of natural age, patina and rust. Another 144 other color options are available. Steelhead Outdoors uses unique and durable power for finishing the safes. Powder coating provides a greater level of durability than paint. These textured finished are durable and maximize protection, for a safe that will look as good for the next generation as it does now. Steel panel interior features a bright and protective, textured powder coated finish that is non-flammable, non-marring and provides additional protection over wood or carpet. Steelhead Outdoors offers lock options. Nomad safes can be ordered with either a UL group II dial mechanical lock for battery-less mechanical dependability or a UL Type 1 S&G Titan direct drive electronic keypad, push button digital lock for no compromise access speed and reliability. All Steelhead Outdoors Nomad modular safes feature American-made quality and precision engineered versatility.

Modular safes are easily moved and assembled by two people. Steelhead Outdoors offers three sizes of Nomad Series safes which feature many high-end security features expected in a premium gun safe. Prices start at $2,700. The patent-pending construction features a fully dry insulation system, eliminating the need for a dehumidifier. This system utilizes a radiant heat reflecting coating to reject incoming heat from entering the safe. The metal interior provides additional protection and is made from nearly 100 percent nonflammable materials. The panels are filled with ceramic fire insulation that is rated to 2300 degrees and is non-moisture trapping so it does not require the use of a dehumidifier and will not release steam into the safe in the event of a fire.
